
The Bachelor of Education (Arabic Language and History) program is designed to prepare professionally competent teachers with strong academic foundations in Arabic language studies and historical knowledge, supported by sound pedagogical training. The program aims to develop educators who can effectively teach Arabic Language and History at secondary school and related educational levels while promoting linguistic accuracy, cultural awareness, and historical understanding.
Through an integrated curriculum that combines subject mastery, educational theory, and practical teaching experience, graduates are equipped with the skills required to communicate effectively in Arabic, interpret historical events critically, and apply appropriate teaching strategies in diverse classroom contexts.
The Bachelor of Education (Arabic Language and History) is a four-year undergraduate degree program, with an optional fifth-year Honours degree awarded by merit. The program is structured progressively, beginning with foundational studies in Arabic language skills, African and Middle Eastern history, psychology, and education, and advancing toward specialized subject courses, research methods, and professional teaching practice.
Students study core areas of Arabic grammar, morphology, rhetoric, linguistics, stylistics, and literature, alongside African, South Sudanese, and world history. These are supported by essential education courses such as philosophy of education, educational psychology, curriculum development, educational technology, assessment and evaluation, and educational administration.
A central component of the program is Teaching Practice, which provides supervised classroom experience and allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real teaching situations. Graduates are well prepared for careers in teaching, curriculum development, educational administration, and further academic study.
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Education (Arabic Language and History) program, graduates will be able to:
