UNUASA meets UNU top administration

The newly elected Executive and Council of the Upper Nile University Academic Staff Association (UNUASA) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and were formally received by the University’s top administration.

During the meeting, the association’s leaders introduced the new team and outlined their commitment to constructive representation of academic staff. The discussion emphasised mutual understanding, regular dialogue and cooperation in addressing issues that affect teaching, research and the wider university community.

Both sides expressed readiness to work through institutional channels and to approach shared concerns with transparency and respect. A productive relationship between staff representatives and University management can help improve communication, support professional welfare and strengthen the environment in which students learn.

Building a culture of partnership

The courtesy visit was an early step in establishing working relationships for the new UNUASA term. It affirmed that staff representation and university governance are most effective when they remain focused on the University’s academic mission and use dialogue to resolve differences.

UNUASA stated that it would continue to represent academic staff while working with University leadership to advance shared priorities. The meeting was reported by Mr. Joseph Deng Ajak, Information Secretary of UNUASA.
